About Us

Pondfield Villa Farm:

We are well situated being just off the A68 for journeys to and from Scotland. The cottage is located within open countryside with panoramic views of beautiful countryside on the edge of a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Locally there is ample walking, fishing, cycling, golf (also at Slayley Hall: venue of the Great North Open), cycling (1/4 mile from the C2C), horse riding, sailing and swimming. There is a riverside park, a working farm and "Diggerland" to interest children. Good food and pubs are a short drive away. Supermarkets, theatre and cinema are three miles away.

Rowley: A small hamlet in a rural location to the west of Durham City and close to the beautiful Roman village of Lanchester with its own Roman fort (Longvicium) awaiting excavation.

Durham City: For over nine centuries the magnificent Norman Castle and Cathedral have dominated the city's dramatic skyline and have recently been awarded World Heritage status.
